Common Questions
- Are you an attorney?
- No — I am a certified paralegal. I can prepare documents, explain processes, and help you organize a matter, but I cannot represent you in court or give you legal advice. Where the law requires it, I work under the supervision of a licensed attorney.
- What kinds of things can a paralegal actually help me with?
- Document preparation, contract review, court-form completion, organizing exhibits and evidence, summarizing legal documents in plain English, and walking you through court or agency procedures so you know what to expect. The National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) Certified Paralegal (CP) designation — which I hold — requires passing a rigorous competency exam and completing 50 hours of continuing legal education every 5 years to recertify.
- Will hiring a paralegal save me money compared to a lawyer?
- For straightforward document and process work — yes, usually significantly. For litigation or anything requiring legal advice or in-court representation, you need an attorney. I'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on at the consultation.
- Can a paralegal help with small claims court forms in Pennsylvania?
- Yes. Pennsylvania Magisterial District Court (small claims) filings are procedural forms that a certified paralegal can help you complete and organize — the complaint, the service information, and supporting exhibits. I can also walk you through what to expect at the hearing. I cannot appear in court on your behalf or give legal advice, but I can help you show up prepared.
- What does a paralegal consultation include?
- A 15–30 minute phone or video call. We go over what you need — whether it's a contract to review, a document to prepare, a court form to complete, or a process you need explained. At the end you'll know exactly what your next step is and whether you need an attorney for any part of it. Book online at amaxeliteseals.org/book.
- Do you come to me, or do I come to you?
- I'm a mobile service — I come to you. Home, office, hospital, coffee shop, wherever the document needs to be signed.
- Can I get a document notarized at my house in Philadelphia?
- Yes — that's exactly what I do. I travel to homes throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding counties (Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Bucks). Book online and I confirm the appointment within the hour.
- Can I get something notarized same day in Philadelphia?
- Often yes. I frequently have same-day availability, especially for evenings and weekends. Book online and I'll confirm within the hour — or call (215) 690-1366 for urgent requests.
- How do I know what to bring?
- You'll get a confirmation email after booking with everything you need to prepare — IDs, documents, and any signers who need to be present.
- What does it cost?
- Pricing depends on the service, location, and timing — it's discussed at booking or at the appointment so you only pay for what you actually need.
- Are you a licensed and insured notary?
- Yes. I am a commissioned Pennsylvania notary public, NNA Certified, background-checked through the National Notary Association, and carry $1M in Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. Pennsylvania law (57 Pa. C.S. § 322) requires notaries to maintain a record of every notarial act for 10 years — every signing I perform is documented and retrievable.
- Do you serve areas outside Philadelphia?
- Yes — I serve Philadelphia and the four surrounding counties: Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Bucks. That includes the Main Line, Bala Cynwyd, King of Prussia, Norristown, Lansdale, Doylestown, Media, West Chester, and dozens of other communities within the Philadelphia metro.
