Is an online notarization legally the same as an in-person one?

Yes. Pennsylvania legalized Remote Online Notarization under Act 97 of 2020, and a RON signature carries the same legal force as an in-person notarization under PA law. Before booking, confirm with whoever requested the document that they will accept a RON signature.

What do I need on my end to do an online notarization?

A government-issued photo ID, the document you need notarized (PDF), and a computer or phone with a working camera and microphone. The whole session usually takes about 20–30 minutes.

How do you verify my identity over video?

The platform runs an automated ID-credential scan and a series of personal-history knowledge questions — part of the multi-factor identity proofing required under Pennsylvania's RON regulations. I review the results live and confirm the photo on your ID matches the person on screen.

Are there any documents that cannot be notarized online in Pennsylvania?

Yes. Pennsylvania's RON law (Act 97 of 2020) excludes certain documents from remote notarization — including wills executed under the Probate, Estates and Fiduciaries Code and certain deeds for real property. When you book, tell me what you're signing and I'll confirm whether RON is permitted.

Can I get a document notarized remotely if I'm not in Pennsylvania?

Yes — as a Pennsylvania-commissioned notary authorized under Act 97 of 2020, I can notarize documents for signers located outside Pennsylvania as long as the document is being notarized under Pennsylvania law. The signer connects via secure video from wherever they are. Confirm with whoever is requesting the document that they will accept a Pennsylvania RON signature.

Are you a licensed and insured notary?

Yes. I am a commissioned Pennsylvania notary public, NNA Certified, background-checked through the National Notary Association, and carry $1M in Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. Pennsylvania law (57 Pa. C.S. § 322) requires notaries to maintain a record of every notarial act for 10 years — every signing I perform is documented and retrievable.
